What is meant by fireclay brick?Chamotte brick, also known as fireclay brick, is one of the most widely used types of refractory bricks. Due to its high resistance to heat, it is utilized in various industries and construction projects. This brick is made from chamotte clay, which is a combination of clay or shale, refractory clay, kaolinitic clays, fuller’s earth, bentonite clays, and other minerals.
Main Components of Chamotte Brick:
- Silicon Dioxide (SiO2): Comprising about 25% to 30% of the brick’s composition, it enhances the brick’s thermal resistance and strength.
